Die Helden : The Heros

The original, the legend, the mystery. Dungeons and Dragons!

However, this board game version is a variant of the popular pen-and-paper game, which is structured more like a dungeon crawler.

The game is played on generic game boards, which can be rearranged to create new scenarios, offering a wide range of gameplay options. The lovingly crafted miniatures, playing cards, and dungeon environment objects serve to heighten immersion, allowing players to dive deep into a fantasy world of warriors, archers, goblins, and undead creatures.

As in classic pen-and-paper role-playing games, there is a dungeon master who controls the monsters and the fate of the environment. Then there are the adventurers, who each start the battle with a pre-made character. The gameplay and character design are not as free as in the original role-playing game. Players are more concerned with placing their heroes and rolling dice for combat actions. Strategic positioning is certainly possible, and considerations for targeted shower browsing in the dungeon should not be underestimated.

Nevertheless, it is a rather fast-paced combat role-playing game. Without wanting to sound disparaging, the rather rigid game mechanics may not be as dynamic as hardcore role-players are used to or might expect.

The many fantastic weapons, armor sets, and items that can be found throughout the game provide variety and scale the game via a level system.
